Bikelangelo For this AP we learned about bikes and how to design a better bike. We visited several bike shops and even got to ready some for shipping. We really explored how to design and prototype. Dyson came and taught us how to make a model. We learned a lot about how to empathize and designed a bike for someone else. We had to put ourselves in their shoes. This allowed us to be more confident in our designs.

over 99% of women have been cat called and that isn't how the world is supposed to be. In this unit we explored changing the world with art. We visited memorials and discussed what makes something effective rhetorically. There hasn't been many consequences for cat callers.I want to connect coniquences with those who catcall. This topic is sort of brushed off as something that happens to every woman and is therefore normal. It should not be that way. Cat calling shouldn't be so common in today's society. Those who do it are often frowned upon but since it is often a stranger, nothing happens. I want to show men how women feel about those who do it and I want to connect societal judgement as a consequence. Women get told horrible things on the street. It can be scary and why should we let women be scared? What is stopping men from standing up for women? Why do so many just turn the other way when they see this happening? It is truly disgusting. I have been learning ASL at school. This project shows what I have learned in this semester. I video called with ASL interpreters and communicated with those who are also learning. ASL is something I really enjoy and practicing conversational signs was very fun. I think my pet cat likes my signing too.

In this unit we learned about how to teach with rhetoric. As a class we met with Troy LaRaviere and talked about his op ed. We learned about how to effectively use rhetorical tools to prove a point and farther our education. I researched MGTOW and how men are being drawn into this harmful group. In my op ed I used many rhetorical tools to convince and show my point ________________________________ Is the internet harming young men’s abilities to respect women?  Many have heard of incel but not many know of MGTOW. That stands for men going their own way.They are a men's rights group with a strong but quiet online presence. Instead of being about accepting a life of being single they advocate for violence against women.  The MGTOW website looks very professional. When you go you are met with a short video that looks like something out of a superhero movie. The video looks cool and appears to cater to younger men who want to be a hero. The website has nearly 33,000 members...

Digging our way into a better shovel Action project on tools In this Unit we learned about tools and empathy. We redesigned the shovel to make it easier to use for those who have a hard time with balance. We designed the tool for those with balance and joint issues. The elderly often have that problem. Empathy is about thinking of others' situations and trying to relate. This project really focused on those who may not have as good balance as I do. I got lucky with that and not everyone else has. It's important not to assume everyone can do what you can. This tool is a wedge and a lever. You use your hand as a fulcrum and your legs as the weight to wedge the blade into the soil.  As a class we tried planting flowers with and without tools in the garden. This allowed us to see how tools work and what they do. We interviewed a gardener so we could gather more information about tools. We went to Home Depot to look a their tools and try some out. It was very eyeopening...

Rhetoric action project In this project we explore rhetoric and how politicians can appeal to certain people. I was assigned Amy Klobuchar. She is a moderate democrat and we don't have all the same political views. I had to explore what she stood for and what question would be difficult for her to answer. I got to think about how politicians carefully pick their words to stand out to a chosen audience. Welcome to my blog. Its orientation, so, we are are being introduced to how this school works. This is my first project and it begins the year with where I began. So are where am I from and how did my growing up there shape me into the person I am? My neighborhood is changing a lot and I am curious how the kids growing up in the neighborhood are affected by it compared to how I was affected by my home. Who was there before me and how was the neighborhood different then?
