In this unit we focused on circuits and renewable power. We talked with an architect about resources and renewable energy. 

Bodies and Bills Patricia Van Pelt, This bill is important because it creates a system that will hold non-transplant organ donation organizations accountable. The Non-Transplant Organ Donation Regulation Act is necessary. The fact that it isn’t already established is horrible but thank you for pushing for it. The lack of transparency in many organizations is appalling and this will help reverse that. When you lose someone it can be incredibly hard, especially when donating human remains. You need to know the organizations you are donating to are ethical and trustworthy. This bill prevents those organizations from taking advantage of grieving loved ones. In the next election, I will be able to vote and if you keep on advocating for this bill I will support you. This bill shows caring and respect towards the grieving and the desire for transparency in non-transplant organ donation organizations. from branches to bridges This was our first unit of urban planning. We looked closely at SDG 11 as we built our bridge. SDG 11 is to make cities and human settlements inclusive, safe, resilient and sustainable. With SDG 11 we got to explore how to make a strong bridge. Our teacher took us around down town and allowed us to explore the different architecture and the art of the city. I had to cut the wood in weird angles. I over all had a lot of fun.

How can we combine old and new media to express ourselves? That is the question I am asking with this final presentation. I wanted to combine the old and the new uniquely. At school, we have access to a 3D printer and realized that this is a new medium. I enjoy acrylics and working with moving shapes. I managed to combine all of these by printing articulated slugs and then painting them. They can wiggle. They are cool as is but I wanted more. I turned them into jewelry so I could wear them and show off my artwork. I was inspired by nature and also wanted to represent that. Slugs are real living organisms and exist in nature. I got to work with many media and got to play with colors in a way I haven't previously explored. I did some research into the price of making these slugs. In this unit of ASL I learned about favorite things and got a stronger grasp on conversational sign. I feel more confident in my skills and am falling in love with this language all over again. I cant wait to learn more and to grow my knowledge.

Color clock In this unit, we learned about time. I have always been very fascinated by time and enjoyed this unit. We went to the planetarium and got to see how time, stars, and mapping works. I never knew about all the different tools to measure longitude and latitude. This gave me an entirely new perspective on time and how we can use/find it. Over time I improved my idea and went from something you couldn't set the colors for to something you can. I added a battery instead of it always having to be corded. I am proud of my improvements. As this comes to a close I can say that I have learned a lot and grown in my understanding of light, sound, and time. I have a strong grasp of the math concepts and understand all the science that has come my way. I am proud of all that I have learned and how I utilized that.

       In this unit called antithesis, we learned about amendments and how to respond to arguments. We talked to several aldermen and got to learn about the inner workings of government in the city. We visited an immigration court and discussed inalienable rights. We got to explore many points of views and learned how to write an effective amendment. We were given the opportunity to write an amendment for the student handbook. The contradiction of no distinction        At GCE lab school there is no distinction between excused and unexcused absences. This is not fair for the student population. This school tries to care a lot about its students. We have a committee focused around the students' wellness yet we ignore possible reasons pupils may be out of school.
